Obituary of John J. Dobrowolski

Berkeley Heights: John J. Dobrowolski, age 80, died on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Runnell's Specialized Hospital in Berkeley Heights. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and had lived in Manville before moving to Berkeley Heights. John served in the United States Navy for 3 ½ years where he was stationed on the aircraft carrier, The USS Midway CVA 41. Prior to his retirement, he was a machinist for Garwood Bush Bearing in Garwood. John's hobbies included building stereo equipment and he had an extensive record collection. He enjoyed fresh water fishing. He also belonged to the Aircraft owners and Pilot Association, piloting small aircraft. He is predeceased by his two brothers-in-law, William Cordes and William Murphy and his nephew, William and his niece Mary. Surviving are his sisters, Joan Cordes of Stewartsville, NJ and Adele Murphy of Lakewood; his nephews, William, Randy and Daniel and his nieces, Cathy, Jan, Terry and Karen. Funeral services will begin on Friday, August 7th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Vincent de Paul. Cremation to follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
