Obituary of Angela Festa
Angela (née Ioffredo) Festa, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at RWJ University Hospital Somerset in Somerset, NJ. Angela was born in Jersey City and resided there until 2009, when she moved to Somerset, NJ.
After graduating from James J. Ferris High School in Jersey City, she continued her education at Jersey City State College, earning her bachelor's degree.
Angela was a teacher at St. John the Baptist elementary school in Jersey City for many years before retiring in 2007. She was also an active communicant of St. John the Baptist RC Church in Jersey City.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping, playing board games (especially Trivial Pursuit), and watching Yankee games and classic movies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by everyone.
Angela was predeceased by her loving husband, Carmine A. Festa in 2020, her sister, Susan Cseh, and her parents, Frank Ioffredo and Angela (née Daddurno).
She is survived by her two sons, Andrew Festa and his wife Amy, Anthony Festa and his wife Cristina, her grandchildren, Alexandria, Gina, Christopher, Matthew, and Sofia, her brother Frank Ioffredo and his wife Viola, and her sister Marie Luizzi and her husband Leonard.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 3026 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
