Obituary of Mary Helen Tighe

Mary Helen Tighe, age 90, died on Saturday August 9, 2014 at the Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bridgewater. Born in Hoboken Mrs. Tighe had resided in Secaucus before moving to North Plainfield in 1986. Mrs. Tighe had worked in Manhattan as a book keeper for NY Furniture and for Daido a manufacturing company in Piscataway retiring in 1984. She was a very active member of St. Luke's RC Church in North Plainfield where she was a member of the rosary society. Mrs. Tighe was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 50 years, while in Secaucus she was regent of the Immaculate Queen of Peace Chapter and more recently a state officer. Mrs. Tighe was very involved in her family especially with her grand and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Francis X. Tighe who passed away in 1998. Surviving are her two sons Mark C. Tighe and his wife Karen of North Plainfield and James and his wife Barbara Rentler of New York City NY; a sister Katherine Ravina of CA. She is also survived by five grandchildren Christopher and his wife Caliope, Jessica and her husband Pete, Corinne and her fiance Benhur, Ryan and Andrew and two great grandchildren Brennan and Justin. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ. A funeral mass will be on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Luke's RC Church in North Plainfield followed by the entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
