Obituary of Mary Di Canto
Mary Di Canto, age 105, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the Avalon at Hillsborough, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glens Falls, NY, Mary had spent most of her life in North Plainfield and later moved to the Watchung and Warren area before settling in Annandale in 2003. Mary recently moved to the Avalon at Hillsborough three years ago.
Mary’s life was centered around her family. She was an excellent cook and was well known for her homemade ravioli and gnocchi. She loved preparing her eggplant and pasta dishes for the entire family. She will be missed by all.
She is predeceased by her husband, John Di Canto, and her son, John.
She is survived by a son, Dominick Di Canto and his wife, Deborah DeLillo-DiCanto; three grandchildren, Donna Schaab and her husband, Richard; John Di Canto and his wife, Arian, and Nicole Lo Stocco and her husband Rob; six great-grandchildren, Heather, Jonathan, Brianna, Samantha, Noel, and Mary. She is also survived by one great-great-granddaughter, Adalyn.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral service will follow commencing at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery in Watchung, NJ.
