Barbara Ellis Moseley

Barbara Ellis Moseley was born on May 28, 1946, to the late Dennis Jordan and Mavis Ellis Jordan in South Carolina. She transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at her home.

Barbara graduated from the New York Fashion Institute in 1964. After high school, Barbara worked for a fashion company making clothes until she left the fashion industry for finance. Throughout her career, she held several positions, from operations with a New York Telephone company, to office support with a law firm, and she finished her career in banking and finance.

Barbara was blessed to marry the love of her life, Fred Moseley, in 1970. They spent 52 years together, enjoying life, and caring for each other through sickness and health. 

Barbara was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family; she was always ready for a family gathering.  Barbara’s passion was sewing and shopping, she always had new clothes to share with her family. Barbara enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Earl Ellis, mother-in-law: Leona Moseley, and brother-in-law: Marion Moseley.

Barbara leaves not to mourn but to cherish fond memories of her husband Fred: her sons:  Fredrick (Danielle) Moseley from CA,  Karim (Tracee) Moseley from Hillsborough, NJ,  and Lamont Moseley, five grandchildren: Marquise, Quiera, Taliyah, Sydney, Ty’Anna Moseley and special cousin Gloria, nieces and a host of relatives and friends.
