Obituary of Rea Katherine Lomakin

Rea Katherine Lomakin, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 19, 2022, at her home in Warren, NJ. Mrs. Lomakin was born and raised in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, NY, and has been a resident of Warren, NJ, since 1965.

She graduated from Prospect Heights High School in Brooklyn, NY, and furthered her education at Methodist Hospital of Brooklyn, School of Nursing.

Mrs. Lomakin was a registered nurse at Raritan Valley Hospital in Green Brook, NJ, Runnells Hospital in Berkeley Heights, NJ, and Carrier Foundation in Belle Mead, NJ, retiring in 1994, shortly after her husband's retirement from his teaching career.

She was a member of the Epiphany Lutheran Church in Watchung, NJ, for many years, including serving as Church Secretary.

Mrs. Lomakin enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, and, more recently, card-making and scrapbooking. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and friends, including those from her nursing school days, as well as newer friends made in Fort Myers, FL, where she and her husband spent most of their winters for the past 20+ years.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Victor Lomakin, in March 2022; her father, Hermann Ehrichs, in 1976; her mother, Anna Ehrichs, in 1991; and her brother, Roy Ehrichs, in 2016.

Mrs. Lomakin is survived by and will be sorely missed by her six children; Janice Dube, Katherine Gallagher, Doris Miller, Nancy Saccente, Douglas Lomakin, and Eric Lomakin, and her two adoring grandchildren, Thomas Saccente and Ryan Miller.

Interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ, will be private.
