Obituary of Henry Hertzberg, MD

Henry Hertzberg, MD, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Watchung, NJ, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.  Dr. Hertzberg was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, resided in Augusta, GA, raised his family in Plainfield, NJ, and was a resident of Watchung, NJ, since 1981.

Dr. Hertzberg graduated from Stuyvesant High School and went on to continue his education at The City College of New York.  After graduating college, he earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical School.

He served his country in the United States Army, earning his honorable discharge in September 1965.

Dr. Hertzberg was a physician at Associated Radiologists in Warren, NJ, for over 40 years.

Henry truly enjoyed life, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He was an avid New York Yankees fan, enjoyed traveling and dining at restaurants and making any occasion an excuse to be together and celebrate, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

Dr. Hertzberg is predeceased by his loving wife, Isadora B Hertzberg, in 2015.

He is survived by his two children, Richard Hertzberg and his wife Linda and Lisa Long and her husband James, and his four grandchildren, Rachel Hertzberg, Melissa Hertzberg, Elizabeth Long, and Charlotte Long.

A funeral service with be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 11:00 am at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ 07069.  Interment will be at Hebrew Cemetery in South Plainfield, NJ.
