Obituary of Hilda Ruiz
Hilda Ruiz, age 86, was born on June 24th, 1936, in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2023, in Clinton, Maryland.
My grandmother was survived by her two grandchildren, Vicente, and David Hidalgo; her great-grandchildren Antonio, Juliana, Joselyn, Alaya, and Aiden; her two sisters, Ana and Alicia; and her brother Angel.
Hilda loved her family and her friends dearly and had the warmest heart anyone could ask for. She would always lend a helping hand without hesitation and enjoyed dancing, bingo, and crossword puzzles. She would always brag about how happy she was of her grandkids serving in the military to everyone.
Hilda retired in 1997 and pursued her passion in the real estate arena by flipping and selling homes.
Hilda's nickname “Avilla” was established by her oldest grandson Vicente, as he could not fully pronounce “Abuela” grandmother in Spanish and could only pronounce it as “Avilla” ever since it stuck with the Family and generations as well.
Our grandmother and sister will be dearly missed, and although we are sad, we are also happy to have her finally reunite with her two lost kids of her own, Danny and Evelyn. May they all continue to rest in peace and continue to watch over us.
