Obituary of Marianne Stephans
Marianne Stephans, née Paraskevas, age 89, born February 18, 1934, died peacefully in her sleep on March 14, 2023. A life-long resident of New Jersey - Roselle, Elizabeth and Warren - she will be remembered for her love of life, her outgoing personality, and her fabulous meals.
She leaves behind her children, son William and daughter-in-law Tracy, daughter Susan, daughter Teri and son-in-law Olivier, son Paul, son Jerome and daughter-in-law Liza. Her first child Gregory predeceased her in 1982 at age 26.
She was a loving grandmother to her eight grandchildren, Brittany, Greg, Carly, Jessica, Ashley, Stephane, Nicolas and Gregory, as well as three great-grandchildren, Sophie, Iris and Phoebe.
Her husband, Jerome J. Stephans Sr, predeceased her in January 2015, age 82. Her siblings, John, Ange, Paul, George and Anita all predeceased her, as well her dear friend Mary Williams Lamanis.
Surviving are her twin sister Helena Bauersachs and her life-long friend Barbara Cost.
A Mass will be held at Shrine of Saint Joseph, 1050 Long Hill Road, Stirling, NJ, on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
