Obituary of Catherine Louise Richter
Catherine Louise Richter, 96, passed away Thursday, March 16th, 2023. She was born in Plainfield, New Jersey, in 1927, was raised in Fanwood, and lived there for over 19 years. She was a long-time resident of Warren Township for over 63 years.
Mrs. Richter graduated from Scotch Plains High School.
She was employed at C. R. Bards in Murray Hill, NJ as a production administrative assistant for 17 years until the company closed in 1986. She was later employed at the Lipton Tea Company in Whitehouse, NJ, as a line packer for seven years until she retired in 1993.
She enjoyed traveling to several different countries with her dear friends, mostly by cruise ship. Mrs. Richter also enjoyed reading and gardening on her front porch, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Richter is predeceased by her husband, Theodore Richter, her grandson Jason Stier, her mother, Clara Blyth Baker, and her loving companion George “Bud” Cronk.
Mrs. Richter is survived by her two daughters, Catherine Stier and her husband Art and Susan Lovenguth and her husband Rob; her grandchildren, Brendt Stier and Robert Lovenguth; her great-grandchild, Jason Stier; her dear sister Mary O'Grady; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation is being held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 10:00 am – 11:30 am at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Catherine’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
