Obituary of James C. Ziomek

James C. Ziomek, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Montefiore Nyack Hospital in Nyack, NY. Born in Plainfield, James spent most of his life living in North Plainfield.

James worked as a mason for the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union of New Jersey, Local 5, his entire career.

In his spare time loved playing golf and would often play on his many trips visiting his family in Wilmington, NC, and Hilton Head. He was an avid football fan who loved the Carolina Panthers and the NY Giants. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR.

James is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lillian (Smith) Ziomek, and a brother-in-law Dale Bennett.

James is survived by his loving daughter, Amy Anderson and her husband, Devin; five siblings, Debra Bennett, Joseph Ziomek, and his wife, Lisa, Wendy Federico; Barbara Walker and her husband Doug; and Julie Freehauf and her husband, Al. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, loving friends, and extended family. He will be missed by all.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ.
