Obituary of Rosalind Bowens

In Loving Memory

Rosalind Little Bowens finished her earthly race on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. While we are saddened by Rosalind’s unexpected departure, we are comforted knowing she touched each of our lives in her own unique way. The impact of this fierce, phenomenal woman will go on for generations to come.

Rosalind was a very special daughter born to Annie Branch Little and Melvin Johnny Little on January 11, 1962, in Brooklyn, NY. Rosalind attended Barbizon Modeling and Acting School in Manhattan, NY.

Rosalind was an extremely dedicated hard worker. She loved working and was committed to all her assignments. Her professional career started with a position as an Accounts Receivable clerk at Harlem Hospital in Harlem, NY. After several years, she decided to accept a position at Strahman Valves, Inc. in Bethlehem, PA, as a Customer Service Manager for more than 25 years. Her more recent employment included ReMax Select in Westfield, NJ, and Angel’s Dream Atelier in Little Falls, NJ. Despite these roles, her true love was preparing scrumptious meals for her husband, family, and friends. Rosalind loved to cook and was always up for the challenge of trying new recipes.

Rosalind loved life and was an example of a Godly woman full of grace, humility, and patience. She freely shared her knowledge and talent whenever the opportunity presented itself. She never met a stranger and always went out of her way to make everyone feel loved. Her smile and greetings were captivating. Often viewed as strong, loyal, smart, inspiring, committed, beautiful, and a person with quite the personality can easily be summed up as “She is Every Woman.”

Rosalind was predeceased by her mother, Annie Branch Little, and two brothers, Waverly McKinley Branch, and Donald Wendell Little.

Rosalind is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Albert Bowens; her father, Melvin Little; her son, James Daniel McIver; her daughter, Anntasia Terece Rosalind Jones (Andrew); her bonus-son, Albert Marquis Speaks (Stephanie); her bonus-daughter, Alfia Ganeene Smith (Anthony); three grandsons: Jayden McIver, Jesiah Holmes, Noah McIver; one granddaughter, Aria Jones; six bonus-grandchildren: Beyonce Wilson, Beyon Wilson, Amaya Speaks, Ayyub Speaks, Aiden Smith, Asaad Smith; a special grandson, Andrew Jones, Jr.; and a host of other family members and friends.
