Darren , Gary and I have been friends since the first grade at St Augustines in Culver City. I had emailed him Sunday and he called Monday which I missed and he died Tuesday. I will deeply miss those impromptu contacts in our 8 decades. As kids we lived just around the corner from each other. In one of our last calls recalling memories he said when he was with 20th Century Fox in NY he met Bette Davis and she told him “Getting old ain’t for sissies”. I loved that guy and wish him God’s speed”. My sincere condolences, Jim Hommes
I didn't know Gary very long. I enjoyed being in his company. He was a personable man and I know he must have been a wonderful man to have raised Darren to be such a kind and considerate son, always willing to help whenever someone needed it. I am so sorry for the loss of your Father. You and Michelle did all you could to make his last years happy. My sympathy also goes out to Harrison, Kate & Ryan.
