Obituary of Lori Schmeisser

Lori Schmeisser, a lifelong resident of North Plainfield, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the age of 59, in the Spring Hills Acute Care Center in Matawan, NJ. Born in Plainfield, Lori earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA.

Lori's career began as an office manager with Professional Surveys in Warren, and she later worked for Chubb Insurance Company in Whitehouse Station as an underwriter for almost 20 years before retiring in 2022.

Lori was an avid reader and loved watching movies. She was known for her intelligence and her passion for watching Jeopardy. Lori enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her niece Hailey. She also attended the Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church in North Plainfield.

Lori is survived by her mother, Gail Schmeisser, her sister, Amy Slyvchak, and her husband, Mark, as well as her niece Hailey Slyvchak. She is predeceased by her father, William Schmeisser, and her sister Lisa Schmeisser.

A visitation to honor Lori's life will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 4 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals located at 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ 07069. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lori's loving memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the ASPCA.
