Obituary of Peter G. Sepesi
Peter G. Sepesi, age 75, peacefully passed away in his son’s arms on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at his home in Bridgewater, NJ. He grew up in Raritan, NJ and had resided in Bridgewater for the past 50 years, where he lovingly raised his family.
Peter was an electrical engineer who embarked on a successful career following his graduation from the RCA Institute in New York City. He began his professional career at Red Devil and Squire Sanders, where he met his beloved wife, Deborah. Together, they built a family and raised three remarkable children. He served as the Director of Engineering at Challenger Corporation. Notably, Peter’s innovative spirit led him to develop and patent a groundbreaking garage door opener during his tenure at Challenger. In 1995, Peter and his son Peter founded Acoustical Concepts, a company they successfully operated until 2010. Following that venture, Peter did consulting work and was sought after for his unique abilities and deep knowledge of radio and audio electronics to design, engineer and repair a vast array of equipment and products. Clients were often relieved to have finally found someone who could bring their vision of a new product to life, or to bring their treasured equipment from a nostalgic, bygone era back to life. Peter truly enjoyed his work.
Peter also nurtured various hobbies that brought him immense joy. He was an avid ham radio operator and enthusiast, and relished the opportunity to repair vintage speakers and amplifiers, even fully refurbishing a classic jukebox. Peter also greatly enjoyed woodworking, just as his father did, and created pieces with great craftsmanship. With his passion for music, Peter cherished the role of DJ, particularly the honor of deejaying his son Tommy’s and daughter-in-law Kasia’s wedding. Additionally, Peter played the accordion from the time he was a young boy. During his high school years, he enjoyed being the A/V technician and running sound and lighting for stage productions, a passion he continued to cultivate throughout his life. Peter was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Raritan, where he actively served as an altar server throughout his parochial and high school years.
Peter was predeceased by his beloved wife, Deborah Sepesi, in 2019.
He is survived by his three children, Tommy and his wife Kasia, Peter and his wife Amy, and Laura. Additionally, he leaves behind his cherished grandson, George.
