Obituary of Annie L. Graham
Annie L. Graham, a cherished matriarch and devoted servant of faith, aged 71, departed this life on July 6, 2023, at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, NJ. A lifelong resident of Plainfield, NJ, Annie was known and loved for her warmth, generosity, and radiant spirit.
Annie's commitment to her family began with her role as a homemaker, nurturing her loved ones and their home with boundless love and dedication. After her children matured, she extended her nurturing nature to the community, working as a housekeeper and most recently serving as a respected teacher's aide at the YWCA in Plainfield, NJ.
Her Christian faith was a vital part of her life, deeply influencing her actions and outlook. She found spiritual sustenance and camaraderie as a faithful member of Faith Fellowship in Sayreville, NJ. Annie also sought companionship and engagement through her active membership in the Senior Citizens Club in Plainfield, NJ.
Annie will be fondly remembered for her infectious love of dancing. She became the heart of any celebration, illuminating weddings, family gatherings, and casual events with her lively steps, infusing them with joy and laughter. However, her greatest delight lay in the simple company of her family, helping and supporting them in every possible way.
Annie now rests in peaceful eternity, joining her predeceased parents, Harris Benjamin Graham and Lizzie Mae Graham, and her siblings, Honnie Lee Graham Sr., Lillie Murphy, Nathaniel Graham, and Douglas Graham.
Her vibrant legacy continues through her loving children, Troy Graham, Sr. and his wife Chaka, and Lakeisha Graham and her fiancé Bobby. She is also further survived by her two siblings, Wanda Graham-Conway (Arthur) and Sylvester Graham (Polly). Her spirit also lives on in her grandchildren Troy Jr., Shantelle, Torin, Tahmir, Damara, Taniyah, Takiyrah, Tahjire, and Tahkye, and her great-grandchildren Tyrin, Myra, Troy, Talen, Tyler, and Tzaela.
Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 9 am to 11 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069. A funeral service will be held at the same location at 11 am, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, NJ.
