Obituary of Samantha Jillian Chapman
Samantha Jillian Chapman, 3, of Warren, NJ, left our arms but not our hearts on Tuesday, July 27, 2023.
Born on June 19, 2020, one minute after her beloved twin brother Owen, Samantha completed our family and will forever be our baby girl. She started each day by banging on her bedroom door and promising Owen was still asleep (even though he was usually wide-awake) to steal some alone time with Mommy. “Sissy” was also Owen’s fierce protector, never taking a bottle or snack without making sure he had one too.
Equal to Samantha’s love for Owen was her love for her big “bro,” Nathan. She watched his every move and was so excited to be included in his adventures. He would take her for tours of the yard in his mini monster truck and taught her to scale the kitchen counters so she could raid the cabinet for Lucky Charms cereal.
Beautiful and spirited, Samantha loved to be included in anything that was going on. She would pack a backpack just like the big kids at the bus stop to set off on her day. Although her backpack usually just contained her tea set so she could host tea parties for her cherished “Pa”. She also loved to play on her swing set and build sandcastles while Daddy was working in the backyard.
Samantha was as famous for her pout as she was for her beautiful blue eyes. She would insist we lower the window next to her car seat so she could say hello to everyone, although that usually meant something flying out of the window. She was feisty and strong-willed but also loved to cuddle. Most of all, she liked to snuggle up with her bottle and watch “Bub Gups” or Peppa Pig.
Our family is proud to say that Samantha’s light will continue to shine; she is our hero and gave the gift of life through the NJ Sharing Network’s organ donation program.
Samantha is survived by her parents, John and Stefanie Chapman; older brother Nathan and twin brother Owen; grandparents Thomas “Pa” and Mary Beth “Grammy” Jaskula; aunt and godfather Jacqueline and Tim Flanagan; and cousins Julia, Caitlin, and Connor Flanagan; godmother Jessica Jaskula; uncle and tía David and Grace Jaskula, and cousin Valentina Jaskula; and numerous loving extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jill Rowley and Jack Chapman.
