Obituary of Vincenza Jean Pytel
In fond remembrance of Vincenza "Jean" Pytel, who, at the age of 95, gently passed away on the morning of September 5, 2023, at Bridgeway Care Center, Bridgewater, NJ. Born with the sunrise of Poughkeepsie, NY, Jean spent her formative years in Jersey City, later finding her haven in Warren, where she nurtured and raised her beloved family. Just half a decade ago, Jean embraced Bridgewater as her new home.
A devoted member of Our Lady of the Mount RC Church in Warren, Jean's heart belonged to her family. Her home resonated with the aroma of freshly baked cakes, intricately decorated with the love only a family matriarch can offer. Not just a homemaker, Jean's nimble fingers wove magic, evident in her exceptional crocheting and sewing skills. A testament to her prowess was the beautiful wedding dress she designed and stitched for her daughter.
While the void left by her dear husband Edward, her sister Marie DeTommaso, and nephew Frederick DeTommaso is irreplaceable, Jean's legacy is carried on by her daughters, Rochelle Saddington, with her husband Bill and Maryann Wood, alongside her husband Neil. The family tapestry further includes her cherished grandson Edward Wood and nephew Richard DeTommaso, and her niece Debra Andronici.
To celebrate Jean's journey and the lives she touched, a visitation will be organized on Thursday, September 7, 2023, between 2 to 4 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A heartfelt graveside service will held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ.
