Obituary of Carol Ann Wheat

Carol A. Wheat, 81, of Warren, NJ, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born on October 18, 1941, to Robert and Helen Dugan. She grew up in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with her parents and two sisters. She was still in high school when she caught the eye of John J. Wheat, and that is where their love story began.

After graduating high school, they were married in 1960. They started their family with three children and then made their move to NJ where they purchased their first family home. With a new home, they welcomed two more children and started raising a family of five. Carol and John loved the mountains and eventually moved their family in 1985 to Warren, NJ, and settled there.

Carol had many interests. First and foremost, she was an amazing mother and made it a point to be close to her children. This included being a LaLeche coach, Girl Scout Leader, and a CCD teacher. She loved ceramics, gardening, and vacationing in her favorite spots, Cape May and Maine. She was an amazing bowler and was very proud to have bowled a 600 series. She also was an integral part of the Jaycettes where she received many awards. She was a devoted Catholic and a faithful member of St. Mary’s Stony-Hill in Watchung, NJ.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Helen Dugan; her sisters, Priscilla Puccio and Patricia Roach; her nephew, Robert Puccio; and her niece, Darian Tvieci.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, John J. Wheat; her children, Karen Muccilli, and her husband, Robert, Maureen McCarthy, and her partner, Robert, Christine Sniscak, and her husband, Harry, Sharon Jelmert, and her husband, Randal, and Robert Wheat, and his wife, Melissa; 12 beautiful grandchildren: Sarah, Lauren, Kelly, Erin, Harry, Taylor, Gretel, Shealynne, Sven, Lexy, Ellie, and Adeline.
