Dear Jay and the entire Moeller clan,
I was deeply saddened when I heard the news of your mothers passing. I have many fond memories of your mother when visiting your house when we were kids. She was always so cheerful and welcoming, and the perfect match for your dad. My condolences to all of you.
I remember swimming laps at the Bridgewater Township Pool and noticing that the person swimming laps next to me was out-swimming me by a mile. Since I'm almost blind without my glasses, all I could tell was that the person out-swimming me was female. I felt a little embarrassed but told myself she must be a star on a local swim team. As I finished and was getting out of the pool, the female swimmer had just finished a lap and was taking a breather and shouted hello to me. I moved closer so I could see who it was and realized it was your mom! Now I'm really bummed out! One of my best friends moms (a mom! an old person! in my foolish young mind's perception) was the one out-swimming me! I felt like a total aquatic failure and wasn't sure I would ever go swimming again. I was SO GLAD when I later found out about your mom's long accomplished history in swimming and her championships. I no longer felt like a failure and returned to swim laps next to your mom on several occasions accepting the fact that she was much faster than me and proud to say "she's my friend's mom".
Your mom was an amazing lady who lived an amazing life, and that's all we can ever hope for. She will be missed but never forgotten.
