Obituary of Olga Francese

In loving memory of Olga Francese, an exceptional soul who graced this world with her vibrant presence for 102 years. Olga embarked on her next journey on Friday, October 20, 2023, from the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville.

A Brooklyn native, Olga's adventurous spirit led her to Plainfield in her thirties. Over the years, she made homes in South Plainfield, Florida, North Plainfield, and eventually settled in Warren, New Jersey, alongside her caring son and daughter-in-law.

Professionally, Olga served with dedication as a loan officer at the Plainfield branch of the United National bank. Even after her retirement, she remained indefatigable, continuing to work for a Physicians Group in Florida.

Among the cherished memories we hold dear from our childhood is the heartfelt tradition of receiving lovingly packaged birthday cakes and Christmas cookies through the mail, a testament to her enduring love and thoughtfulness.

Residing at The Delaney of Bridgewater, a vibrant senior living community, she passionately engaged in various activities. Her participation in baking and arts and crafts sessions, orchestrated by the dedicated activities director, was a source of joy and creativity during her time at The Delaney.

Olga relished life's simple pleasures—whether it was taking car rides, bird-watching at her Warren residence, or, most importantly, cherishing moments with her family. Holidays, gatherings, and daily routines—every moment with her loved ones was a celebration for her.

She now joins her beloved husband Noel F., her son Noel, his wife Ann and their son Scott, and her daughter Selene O’Connor in eternal rest.

Olga's legacy is carried forward by her three grandchildren: Susan Francese; Jennifer Romanoski and her spouse Matthew; and Andrew Francese, wedded to Kelly. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Christopher and his fiancée Stephanie Szela, Joseph, Alec Romanoski, and Julia and Erin Francese, a niece Phyllis VonSaspe and a nephew Hank VonSaspe and his spouse Wynne. The depth of her relationships is evident in the cherished extended family she leaves behind, notably Donna Carder, and Patrick Molloy with his wife Jaechelle Johnson, both of whom held special corners in Olga's heart.

To pay respects and celebrate Olga's remarkable life, a visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 27, 2023, from 10 am to 11 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069. The funeral service will commence at 11 am, followed by the burial at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.

In Olga's own words, a mantra she lived by, "Life is short, eat dessert first."
