Obituary of Michael Joseph Dentici

Michael Joseph Dentici passed away peacefully on October 22, 2023, in Summit, NJ, surrounded by loved ones.

Michael was born on March 19, 1954, to Nicolina and Joseph Dentici in Pittsburgh, PA. Michael graduated from Thiel College in Greenville, PA, in 1976, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting & Business Administration. He later obtained his CPA certification.

Michael met the love of his life, Karen Campanella, and married in 1982. They shared 41 wonderful years together, building a beautiful home and family.

Michael and Karen welcomed their son, Joseph (Joe) Dentici, in July of 1987. Michael’s love for Joe was obvious to anyone who met him. He supported Joe’s aspirations with unwavering pride. When Joe introduced his now wife, Marissa, to the family, Michael embraced the role of father-in-law. He was overjoyed to become a doting grandfather when they welcomed their daughter, Sophie Connie, in March of 2023.

Michael’s commitment to excellence was reflected in his career. He provided exemplary service as the Chief Financial Officer and member of the board of directors, at T&M Associates, a national consulting engineering firm where he spent 15 years.

Outside the office, Michael's heart beat for golf. A frequenter of Oakmont in Pittsburgh, he cherished the joy of playing alongside family members. His memories were adorned with moments from Pebble Beach and Augusta National. Apart from golf, the culinary arts held a special place in Michael's heart. His kitchen, a testament to his passion, was laden with cooking gadgets, spices, and cookbooks. Nearly every night, Michael would cook delectable meals. He particularly loved to make Italian dishes such as manicotti, linguini with clam sauce, and pasta fagioli. If you’ve tried Michael’s food, you haven’t forgotten it.

In addition to Michael’s professional and personal accomplishments, his greatest quality was his humanity. He was kind, empathetic, and always ready to help a friend. He knew when to flash his infectious smile and when to toss in his sense of humor. He had a unique ability to put everyone at ease. In return, Michael was dearly loved by family and friends.

In lieu of flowers and in Michael's memory, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a cancer foundation of personal preference.

May Michael's soul rest in peace, and may his legacy of love, commitment, and passion inspire generations to come.
