I have been a colleague and friend of Rainer during most of his working years. We worked on many projects together. His attention to detail and his engineering skills were top notch. He had a great sense of humor and was a good friend. Occasionally even after retirement many of us continued to meet to catch up and share stories and discuss events. We were aware of Rainer’s fight with his illness and his mindset to never give up. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Condolences to his family and may God bring you all peace in this difficult time.

Rainer was a great friend and an excellent co-worker. I met him back in 1980 in old Bendix while we were both Co-Op students. We did our studying at home but met every morning in the basement of the library to go over the day's assignments. Other students would come by to try to glean information from us but we did it the old-fashioned way and this helped both of us in the process to master the material. Bendix was a great place for both of us to start our engineering careers and we worked with a lot of great engineers. Gradually new and often incompetent management took over and mergers with Allied and then Signal would make the place much more difficult to work in. We met this with plenty of humor and jokes and plenty of discussion around the lunch table. I will greatly miss Rainer and offer my deep condolences to Marianne and her family. We will stay in touch.

A big loss for sure. Rainer was a great friend! Many good times at the annual super bowl gathering, barbecues, wally ball on Friday nights in Clifton. More recently, Rainer was able to make it to our concerts, enjoy the music, and spend time hangin out with Mariann, Bob and Arlene, Wayne, Rhonda and me.
