Obituary of Howard Boyd Sanders

Howard Boyd Sanders, 72, departed this world unexpectedly on November 6, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, and nurtured in River Edge, NJ, Howard embarked on an academic journey to Bowling Green, OH, for higher education. At Bowling Green State University, he dedicated himself to the study of special education, a field where his impact would be deeply felt.

After college, Howard made his home in Dunellen, NJ, for over thirty years, alongside his cherished roommate and friend, Toby Hecht. His professional life was largely spent in service to others as an educator, with his final tenure at Somerset Hills Learning Institute in Bedminster, NJ. There, Howard began as a teacher before moving into administration. His innate affinity for computers and technology soon became evident, leading him to oversee the school's IT operations. Howard's knack for troubleshooting and resolving intricate technological issues was legendary among his colleagues.

Away from work, Howard was an avid enthusiast of the digital world, often delving into the intricacies of the stock market and economic trends with fervor.

His memory is honored by his sister, Hilary Spenceley, brother-in-law Robert, nephews Ryan Johnson, and Eric Spenceley, nieces Robyn and Emily Johnson and Kaitlin Spenceley, great-nephew William Allen, great-niece Hailey Johnson, and his enduring friend, Toby Hecht.

In respect of Howard's preference for privacy, cremation services were conducted intimately.
