Obituary of Dina Cacharel Frazier

In Loving Memory of Dina Cacharel Frazier

It is with heavy hearts and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Dina Cacharel Frazier.

A precious daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Dina, aged 43, departed on November 20, 2023, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ.

Dina was born in East Orange but became a cherished member of the Plainfield community throughout the rest of her entire life. After graduating from Plainfield High School in 1997, Dina’s academic journey took her to Tuskegee University in Alabama, where she pursued studies in accounting. However, her true calling was in service, beginning in the world of beauty and cosmetics, leading her to Dudley Cosmetology University in Greensboro, NC, and later to finish those studies at Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ.

Dina's professional life was marked by her excellence in design, her dedication to her clients, and her talent as a hairstylist.  She worked with various salons, but she blossomed in her self-employment.  However, this year, her desire to serve redirected her to a more gratifying role as an assistant to those applicants seeking Medicaid and Social Security benefits. Her untiring compassion and commitment to aiding others in their time of need was a true testament to her generous, giving spirit.

A woman of style and grace, Dina greatly enjoyed fashion. This was most evident in her appearance as she kept abreast of all the latest trends in clothing and cosmetics.

Yet, her heart found its truest and deepest joy in the company of her beloved nephew, Ysaiah, whose presence and how he called her "Titi" always brightened her world. Dina also had an infectious laugh that would brighten a room and cause you to laugh even if you didn't know what she was laughing about.

Deeply spiritual, Dina was a member of Faith Fellowship Ministries beginning on Cooper Avenue, then on Oaktree Road, both in Edison, and presently in Sayreville, NJ. Her faith and belief in God and His Plan for her life was her greatest source of strength and comfort.

Dina's legacy of love and kindness is carried on by her loving family: her mother, Rev. Easter G. Frazier; her devoted sister, Gabrielle Frazier, her nephew, Ysaiah; Her aunts Peggy Bermack (Alan) and Gloria Jones (Johnny); and a multitude of cousins, extended family members and friends who are blessed to have known her.

She joins in eternal rest and peace with her father, Thomas Frazier, her aunt, Anna Lee Garrett, and her uncles Willie Jay Garrett and James Edward Garrett.

As we celebrate Dina's life, we cherish her memory and we, her family and friends find consolation, in our knowing, that Dina is now in God's eternal presence, that she rests in His Eternal embrace, and that we will see her again.

Her spirit, guided by her faith in Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and her love for all her family and friends, remains an everlasting legacy of hope and an inspiration to all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held in Dina's cherished memory on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, commencing at 10:00 a.m. at the King of Kings Worship Center, 3575 Valley Rd, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
