Obituary of Arthur George Petty

Arthur George Petty, a respected veteran and cherished member of his community, passed away at the age of 82 on November 23, 2023, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. Born in Newark, Art grew up there before relocating to Warren in 1980, where he and his beloved wife, Patricia, made their home for several years before recently moving to Delaware.

Art served with honor and distinction in the United States Army from 1963 to 1969, where he distinguished himself as a skilled marksman, earning the prestigious sharpshooter medal. His career in the trucking industry spanned over four decades, highlighted by his significant contributions to several companies, most notably Allied Oil.

A man of many interests, Art cherished the time spent boating and riding his motorcycle. He also remained dedicated to maintaining his sharpshooting skills through regular target practice. Although not an official member, he found solace and community in attending mass at Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren.

His loving wife of 30 years, Patricia Adcock Petty, survives him. Together, they shared a life filled with love, commitment, and mutual respect.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 5 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069.
