Born in Plainfield and had graduated from Plainfield High School in 1959, Dick was a lifelong resident of the area, spending 54 years in Watchung, where he built a life rich in dedication, service, and joy.

Educated at Pfeiffer University, Dick pursued studies in business, laying the groundwork for a career marked by leadership and commitment. His professional journey was predominantly in the shipping and receiving sector, notably with Robert McKeown Company, Inc., in Branchburg, and Enviro-Clear Company, Inc., in High Bridge, retiring from Robert McKeown Company. Alongside his career, Dick co-owned the Diver's Den Store in Green Brook, where he shared his passion for underwater exploration with the community.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Dick served with distinction during the Vietnam War, stationed at the Philadelphia Naval Base as a corpsman. His military service deeply influenced him, inspiring a lifelong commitment to supporting fellow veterans.

Dick's artistic side shone through in his work as a freelance photographer, capturing weddings and special events. He also gave back to the community, volunteering with the Watchung Rescue Squad, and indulged his love for the water, from sport fishing to scuba diving as a certified dive master. Dick's passion for travel and classic cars, particularly restoring a 1965 Ford Mustang with his son Richard, showcased his diverse interests.

Dick is predeceased by his infant son in 1967.

A devoted family man, Dick is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol; his children, Kelly Geissler and her husband Jeff, and Richard Carman Gaine III; and his grandsons, Cory and Jared. He was a pillar of support and joy in their lives, especially cherished for his presence at their sporting events and his knack for providing the latest gear.
