Obituary of Angelina Labbadia

Angiolina “Angelina” Labbadia, 84, of Warren, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Born in Lenola, Italy, Angelina grew up there before moving to North Plainfield, NJ, with her family in 1978. In 2008, she relocated to Warren.

Angelina possessed a strong work ethic, beginning as a seamstress's apprentice in Italy. Although she did not continue in this trade, she utilized her skills throughout her life, crafting many of her own clothes. Later, she worked for a manufacturing company, contributing to the production of television parts. After that company closed, Angelina worked in the cafeteria at Middlesex High School for several years until her retirement.

A devoted member of St. Joseph’s RC Church in North Plainfield, Angelina never missed a Saturday Mass.

Angelina found immense joy in cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed assisting her husband with gardening, helping to harvest and prepare their homegrown fruits and vegetables. Even after moving to Warren, where space for a traditional garden was limited, she continued to support her son with his gardening efforts.

Known for her selflessness, Angelina always put others before herself.

Angelina was predeceased by her loving husband, Girolamo Labbadia, in 2022 and her brother Serafino Tribuzio. She is survived by her three children: Dr. Frank Labbadia and his wife Deborah, Cristina Campo and her husband Paolo, and Filomena Nizamoff and her husband Robert; six grandchildren: Nicholas Labbadia (Maria), Christopher Labbadia (Marissa), Tina Campo, Francesca Campo (Dexter), Daniela Nizamoff, and Cristian Nizamoff; and her siblings, Michele Tribuzio and Giuseppina Tribuzio.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 4 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069. The funeral mass will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10 am at St. Joseph’s RC Church in North Plainfield, followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
