Obituary of Marie Guillermina Mendoza-Biesiadecki
Marie Guillermina Mendoza-Biesiadecki, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away at her home on June 7, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on May 25, 1958, in Manila, Philippines, to Guillermo Mendoza and Miriam Lopez, Marie was raised in the Philippines, where she developed a strong foundation of faith and education.
Marie graduated from St. Scholastica's College in Manila and continued her education at Assumption College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Management with a minor in Theology. Her professional journey began in the Philippines, where she worked at the Embassy of Colombia as an assistant to the ambassador and later at PhilPhos. After moving to New York City at the age of 24, Marie continued her career in the accounting department of Bema Trading and Natori.
In 2002, Marie and her family relocated to Watchung, New Jersey, where she embraced her role as a homemaker to raise her children. As her children grew older, Marie re-entered the workforce, dedicating her skills and passion to Saint Elizabeth University in Madison, New Jersey, as an institutional researcher.
Marie's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Stony Hill Roman Catholic Church in Watchung, New Jersey, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. Her commitment to her faith and community was unwavering, reflecting her deep spirituality and compassion.
In addition to her professional and religious commitments, Marie was a talented jewelry maker, transforming her hobby into a successful business. She found joy in creating beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic flair. Marie also loved listening to music, traveling, and spending time with her friends. She cherished her college friends and maintained close relationships, often meeting for lunches and shared memories. Her love for travel took her to Spain, Italy, France, and visits to her son in California, creating cherished memories with her family.
Christmas was a particularly special time for Marie, who delighted in watching Hallmark movies and gathering her family together to celebrate the season.
Marie is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Biesiadecki; her two sons, Philip and William Biesiadecki; her sister, Miriam Sowers, and her husband, Michael; and her brother, Victor Mendoza, and his wife, Patricia. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
All services are private, but a public mass to celebrate Marie’s extraordinary life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Stony-Hill R.C. Church, 225 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ.
