Obituary of Julian John Tagman
Julian John Tagman, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
Julian was predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia, in 2019; his daughter Christine Walker in 2006, his grandson Kevin Walker, his daughters-in-law Linda Jo Tagman and Mildred Tagman and his step-grandson Keith Kuzmenko.
He leaves behind a loving family including his son, Scott Tagman; his grandchildren Melissa Zaccardi and her husband Bryan, Keith Walker and step-granddaughter Mildred Kuzmenko.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Julian’s journey took him from his birthplace in Worcester to Mount Kisco, New York where he and Patricia welcomed their children Christine and Scott into the world. He later settled in North Plainfield, New Jersey, spending twenty treasured years there before retiring to Toms River in 1986. From there he moved on to Florida where he enjoyed nearly two decades of life before returning to North Plainfield in 2018 to be closer to his family.
A proud alumnus of Michigan State University, Julian earned a degree in Chemistry which paved the way for a distinguished career with Hoffman LaRoche Pharmaceuticals in Clifton, New Jersey. There, he played a pivotal role in the process development team and was instrumental in the creation of the acclaimed drug, Valium, in the 1970’s. Retirement allowed Julian to indulge in his passions. He was an avid tennis player, cyclist, and boater, embracing life with joy and vigor. He was a voracious reader. Julian enjoyed watching sports sharing moments with friends and family, and especially loved attending Red Soxs and Yankee games at Fenway and Yankee Stadium,
A graveside service to celebrate Julian’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Stony-Hill Cemetery on Plainfield Avenue in Watchung, NJ, on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
Julian’s warmth, wisdom, and generosity touched many lives. He will be deeply missed by all who know him, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and a lasting impact on the lives he touched.
