Obituary of Dominick V. DiFabio

Dominick V. DiFabio, age 93, passed away on July 14, 2024, at the Mira Vie in Warren, New Jersey. He was born on April 14, 1931, to James and Mary DiFabio in Cranford, New Jersey, where he lived until moving to Warren in 2018.

After graduating from Cranford High School, Dominick began his career at Cranford Paint and Hardware, where he worked for many years. He later held positions as a sales associate at Clark Town Hardware and most recently at Rahway Lumber. Dominick served in the Naval Reserves for about eight years, reflecting his dedication and service to his country.

A devout Catholic, Dominick received all of his sacraments through Saint Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Cranford. He was a passionate baseball fan and a devoted follower of the New York Yankees, although his family lovingly teased him for his conditional support when the team lost. Dominick had a love for gardening, particularly tending to his fig tree and tomato plants, and enjoyed riding his bicycle, staying active and fit throughout his life.

Dominick was a member of the Old Guard Club in Westfield, New Jersey, and the Knights of Columbus. He had a long-standing enjoyment of bowling and participated in a bowling league for many years. He also had a fondness for visiting casinos and buying lottery tickets. During his time at the Chelsea, he frequently joined trips to the Sands Casino in Pennsylvania.

Above all, Dominick cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, and found great joy in attending their soccer and baseball games.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Catherine DiFabio, in 2019.

Dominick is survived by his three daughters: Donna Lee, Anita Wells and her husband Russell Wells, and Linda Caminiti and her loving companion Mike Johnson. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Amanda Miller and her husband KC Miller, Carly Wells and her husband Jeff Karinja, Cassie Caminiti, Michael Caminiti, and Nicolas Rodriguez; as well as his three great-grandchildren: Vivian Miller, Owen Miller, and Ava Karinja.

Dominick’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
