Thomas Furino

Obituary of Thomas J. Furino

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Thomas J. Furino, who died peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 5th, 2024, in Martinsville. Tom was born on August 11, 1938, to the late John and Mary Furino. He was one of eight children, four girls, and four boys. At the age of 16, following his father's death, he went to work for the family business, Furino and Sons, which is still operating successfully today in Branchburg, NJ.

Tom was recognized for his straightforward and caring approach to life and business. He had a passion for golf and taking photographs, always with a camera in his hands. He was an active member of Metuchen Country Club, Fiddlers Elbow, and Raritan Valley Country Club. He greatly encouraged in his 4 grandsons and his granddaughter the passion of golf, who today make it their most enjoyable event together.

His love for the camera was prevalent, going through boxes and boxes of photos he had taken. Whether it was a holiday, a job site, or even a weekly Wednesday family dinner night, he was always snapping photos. Tom also had a love for animals. Whether it was dogs, deer, cats, or birds, he was taking care of and feeding them every day. Anyone who knew him knew that the animals sometimes came first.

Beyond his golf, photographs, and animals, Tom leaves behind a legacy not only marked by his many accomplishments but also by deep family connections. Tom is survived by his wife of 32 years, Rosaria Furino; his daughter, Lani Lisanti and her husband Jason; his son David and his wife Deana; and his five grandchildren: Nickolas (Jenn), Zackary (Abby), Jacob, Josef and Julianna.

Tom was predeceased by his first wife, Linda Furino.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 13th, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ.
