Obituary of Patricia Lohr
Born on November 3, 1934. Died on September 24, 2024
She lived her entire life with a loving family in Watchung until moving to Autumn Lake Healthcare in Berkeley Heights in 2019.
She attended Watchung public school for several years before transferring to a private program in Plainfield that better served her needs.
Family was everything to Patricia. At times, the family home housed not only Pat and her parents and sister but also grandparents, an uncle, her sister’s family, and even cousins. She was an active participant in all family gatherings and especially enjoyed holidays when the house was full of people. The many babies who joined the family over the years were a source of joy to her. The occasional massive extended family gatherings were her favorite times.
Pat’s “family” included the congregation of Wilson Memorial Church in Watchung throughout her life. She was a member of the children’s choir, and the youth group as a young woman. As an adult, she participated in the Women’s Guild, currently known as the Women of Wilson. She was a valued volunteer at the Frippery Thrift Shop at Wilson Memorial for many years. Her “Frippery Sisters” were a particular source of friendship and support even after she moved to Autumn Lake.
Patricia’s smile and enthusiasm will be missed.
Patricia was predeceased by her father, Robert Lohr, and her mother, Dorothy Hedberg Lohr. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Ann Clarke of Watchung, and her niece Suzanne Fenstemaker, and her husband, Bill, also of Watchung.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Wilson Memorial Union Church, 7 Valley Road, Watchung, NJ. Cremation services were held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wilson Memorial Church.
