MaryBeth was such an essential part of our organization at the Rutgers Gardens. She was one of the first volunteers I had in the greenhouse when I had started back in 2005. From then on her 17 years of dedication to the greenhouse , propagating plants at the busiest times of year and helping us at all our events. MaryBeth was an absolute pleasure to be around. So incredibly easy. We were lucky to have her. and I will always think of MaryBeth whenever I see the hundreds of Coleus plants she propagated every year or the Clome and Salvia that she loved. Photographed her with another long time volunteer Jean that she enjoyed working with at a Rutgers Gardens Fall festival

Farewell my friend, you're leaving.
It's time for you to go.
Your friendship was a blessing,
And I will miss you so.
We shared so many secrets.
You brightened up my days.
You brought me so much happiness
With your kind and loving ways.
You lifted up my spirits
When I was feeling blue.
No matter what was happening,
You knew just what to do.
We ran between the raindrops
And walked beneath the sun,
Ran barefoot in the summertime,
And oh, we had such fun.
Through all the ups and downs of life
The good times and the sad,
From early twenties to our golden years,
The best friend I ever had.
God is here to take you home.
Now you and I must part.
I love you, and forever
You will live within my heart.

Mary Beth and I grew up together in Bayonne and she was my maid of honor at our wedding. She and John were married just 2 years after us and their wedding was beautiful at their home. She was a good friend and was so sorry to hear of her passing. My sympathies go out to John and the entire family. I pray God will keep her in his loving arms and grant her eternal peace.
