Obituary of Ronald John Snyder, Jr.
Ronald John Snyder Jr., 66, passed away at his home in Green Brook, New Jersey, on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Born on August 1, 1958, in Jersey City, Ron was the son of the late Ronald J. Snyder Sr. and Marilyn Snyder. At the age of nine, Ron moved to Staten Island, where he spent much of his youth. He later relocated to Edison, New Jersey, and eventually settled with his wife in Piscataway, where they raised their family. In Green Brook, Ron fulfilled a dream by building the home where he lived for many years.
Ron pursued his education at Middlesex County Community College, earning an associate degree in accounting. His professional career was dedicated to the real estate industry, beginning as a real estate agent in 1982. His passion for flipping and renovating houses evolved into a distinguished career as a home builder. Over the decades, Ron built hundreds of homes throughout Central New Jersey, leaving behind a legacy of deal-making, dedication, and professionalism. His passion for the business and favorite part was working with first-time home buyers, guiding them through the process of pursuing the American dream. He retired in 2022, capping an illustrious career with the publication of his book, The Land Baron, a work he was especially proud of.
Outside of his professional achievements, Ron had a deep love of music, particularly rock and blues from the 1960s and 1970s. He was a talented guitarist and enjoyed sharing his passion for music with others. A lifelong Yankees and Giants fan, he found great joy in rooting for his favorite teams.
Known for his sense of humor and love of life, Ron was a jokester who brought laughter and joy to those around him. He cherished time spent with family and friends, creating countless fond memories through his wit and charm.
Ron is predeceased by his parents, Ronald Sr. and Marilyn, along with his brother Kenneth.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Marie; his three children, Ronnie, Eric, and Desiree; and his siblings, Keith Snyder (Jennifer) and Richard Snyder (Diane). He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held in Ron's memory on Thursday, November 21st, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home on the same day. Cremation services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice. Ron’s legacy of laughter, love, and family dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
