Obituary for Antoinette “Ann” Silveri
Antoinette “Ann” Silveri (née Tramontano), 101, of Hillsborough, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at RWJ University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville, NJ. Born on September 28, 1923, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Ann lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and community. She later moved to North Plainfield, where she and her beloved husband, Joseph Silveri, Sr., raised their family. After many cherished years in North Plainfield, Ann moved to Basking Ridge in 1989 and later resided at The Avalon in Hillsborough, New Jersey.
Ann was a dedicated and proud employee of Wells Fargo Bank, where she rose through the ranks from head teller to assistant manager. Her tenure at the bank spanned across several name changes, but her loyalty and pride in her work remained constant. She found great purpose and fulfillment in her career, where she forged lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike.
Her Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life. Ann was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield before becoming a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Basking Ridge. Her faith guided her in all aspects of her life, inspiring her devotion to her family and community.
Ann will be remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, and love of life’s simple joys. She enjoyed reading, traveling, playing bingo, and gathering with family and friends for card games. Above all, her greatest legacy was her family — the source of her deepest pride and joy.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Silveri, Sr., who passed away on September 11, 2000, as well as her parents, Dominick and Rose Tramontano, her brothers, Michael Tramontano (and his wife, Lillian) and Vincent Tramontano (and his wife, Rose), her sister, Julia Stackowski (and her husband, Kenneth), and her cherished son-in-law, James Deady, who passed away in 2019.
Ann is survived by her loving children: JoAnn Deady, Michael Silveri, Sr. and his wife Patricia, Joseph Silveri, Jr. and his wife Lu Ann, and Marlene Vastino, and her husband, Joseph. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to 12 cherished grandchildren: Christine Ritt (John), James Deady, Jr. (Suzanne), Ryan Deady, Michael Silveri, Jr. (Antoinette), Anthony Silveri, Joseph Vastino Jr. (Thepmany), Dominick Vastino (Arianna), Jonathan Vastino (Mary Ann), Danielle Waters (Kevin), Lauren Redwood, Lindsey Lutz (Daniel), and Joseph Silveri III (Samantha)
Her love and legacy extend to her 20 great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy: Conan, Patrick, and Avery Ritt, James III, William, Sydney, and Peyton Deady, Gianna Vastino, Isabella, Michael, and Daniella Waters, Delani Hyde, O’Neil Forbes, Michael III, and Antonia Silveri, Colton, Sawyer and Finn Redwood, Ellie Jo, and Grady Lutz.
Ann is also survived by her beloved sister, Ida Zampella, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, New Jersey, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield, where Ann worshiped for many years.
Following the Mass, entombment will take place at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.
