Theresa Catherine Luzzi 93, of Verona NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater NJ. Theresa was a lifelong resident of New Jersey.
Theresa worked as a nurse at both Mountainside Hospital and Community Hospital in Montclair NJ until she retired after 50+ years. Theresa was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed cooking and having large festive parties for our families and our friends. Theresa was a lifelong deeply religious person who regularly attended church, traveled to the Holy Lands with her sisters and considered that trip as a highlight of her spiritual life. Theresa was an avid reader; she enjoyed the outdoors and all our family pets loved her not only for her frequent snacks but for her loving affection. Theresa was amazed at the fluorescent and phosphorescent qualities of the rare zinc minerals her sons collected at the Sterling Hill Mine and the Franklin mine in northern NJ. Theresa was also very interested in examining the various insect and botanical inclusions in amber that her sons collected in NJ and from around the world. Theresa was a 46-year survivor of breast cancer, as a nurse she diagnosed herself early, she received treatment and was able to live a long healthy cancer free life.
