Catherine Klenert, 89, of Tinton Falls, NJ, passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on January 7, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Catherine was the cherished wife of the late Richard Klenert and selfless mother to her three surviving children, Diana (married to Vincent), Michael, and Terri (married to Eric), as well as her loving grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel.

Catherine filled her days with a dedicated love for 48 years of marriage, raising her children, and relishing her grandchildren. She held tightly to her family, cherishing every moment with her loved ones. She was a pillar to her family, and she showed unwavering support and compassion in everything she did. She never let life’s challenges take her down and continued to rise above them in every way. Catherine will be remembered by all of her loved ones as one of the strongest and most resilient women we have been privileged to know and love. Catherine was full of life and enjoyed cooking, hosting family gatherings and her creative side in ceramics, a fun pastime that she shares with her daughters and granddaughter, led her to create beautiful family heirloom pieces that will be cherished for generations.

The family would also like to recognize Catherine’s devoted caregiver for many wonderful years, Yvette Benton, for her exceptional care and kindness. Yvette’s compassion made an immeasurable difference in Catherine’s final years. Our family will forever cherish her and be grateful for the love and dedication she gave to not only Mom but our entire family.

Catherine’s love will remain in the hearts and memories of all that knew her. Her fighting spirit and loving heart will be her legacy always and forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local Hospice chapter or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

A visitation will be held in Catherine's memory on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral mass will follow the visitation, commencing at 1:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Stony-Hill R.C. Church, 225 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Stony-Hill Cemetery, Plainfield Avenue, Watchung, NJ.
