Obituary of Judith Kerney

Judith Ellen Kerney was born on October 27th, 1935, to the late Daniel Toomey and Marian Toomey. She was born in Berwick, Pennsylvania and raised in Newark and Kenilworth New Jersey. Judy married Frank H. Kerney in April of 1956 and together had 3 children, Frank Kerney, Melinda Bezozo, and Elizabeth Kerney. When she wasn't traveling the world with her husband and beloved sister, Judy worked as the church secretary of Kenilworth United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church of Scotch Plains. She was also a legal secretary for the law firm Crane/Beglin in Plainfield NJ for many years. She also served as co-owner of Kerney Marine. Judy was a life long member of the Methodist Church, most recently being a member of Bishop Janes United Methodist Church of Basking Ridge NJ where she loved singing in the church choir. Judy was a champion pie maker and an avid patron of the arts. She loved Chopin, Bach, and all classical composers and music, paying tribute to them through her beloved piano. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank H. Kerney and sister Fay Olsen. Judith leaves to cherish her own memories; three children Frank H. Kerney and wife Julie Kerney, Melinda Bezozo and husband Dr. Richard Bezozo, Elizabeth Kerney and Jeffrey Van Orden. She also leaves her much loved Grandchildren: Frank H Kerney III, Megan L. Kerney, Leah D. Bezozo, Kaitlinn A. Kerney, Katherine E. Greger, Shannon D. Greger, Alexandra N. Bezozo, Shayna L. Bezozo, and a host of cousins that were very special to her. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 3, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funeral 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Bishop Jane's United Methodist Church, Basking Ridge followed by entombment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park.
