Obituary of Mary Gordon
Mary Clair Gordon, was born in Walterboro, SC on May, 7,1927 to David Folk and Annie Sanders Folk.
She married Joe H. Gordon on January 16, 1943. They moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1948 and had one son, Joe H. Gordon, Jr.
In late 1951, Mary met her lifelong love and partner Earl M. Williams (deceased). Together, in Harlem, NY they built a wonderful life and had one son Vernon K. Williams (deceased).
Mary worked at the Carter Hotel in Times Square until she retired in 1992.
Mary, "Mommy" too many was a beloved member of her community. She frequently opened her home to those that needed refuge.
Mary is survived by her son, Joe H. Gordon, Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Robin, Taurian and TyRay; 8 great-grandchildren, Teryn, Elijah, Taurian Jr., Tyler, Trevor, Mariah, Trent and Ean; sister Martha Twiggs and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
