Obituary of Noel Marc Dupre
On October 17, 2012, Noel Marc Dupre departed this world. Born to Margaret (DePalma) and Noel Frederick Dupre in Elizabeth, NJ in 1943. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many, as well as an avid sailor. Establishing a love of sailing at a young age, Marc joined Raritan Yacht Club and has been a member for several decades. He won many racing awards together with a dedicated crew, most recently on Tango. His proudest racing accomplishment was a 1st place trophy on the 183 mile Around Long Island Race in 2007.
He was always a hard worker, an Electrical Designer by trade, in recent years an Electrical Inspector for several New Jersey Municipalities. He also owned and operated one of the first temporary living establishments in NJ for 25 years. A "hands on'' type of guy, he and his wife Cheryl Cassetta-Dupre worked together on lovingly restoring their 1865 home in Green Brook, NJ. in which they resided for 30 years.
Marc was a family man; the consummate husband to his faithful and loving wife Cheryl Cassetta-Dupre; big brother to Dona Lewis and husband Charles and Geoff Dupre and life partner, David Phillips all of Jonesborough, TN and finally, Normand Dupre and wife Jane of Ketchican, Alaska. He cherished his blended family which consisted of daughters, Jenise Peticolas and husband Jon of Freehold, NJ; Yvonne Dupre of East Windsor, NJ; Stacey More and husband Michael of New Bern, NC. And son Michael Cassetta of Nederland, Co. Proud to be grandfather to Leah and Devon Peticolas and Jordan and Abbey More. He leaves behind 9 wonderful nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. Last but not least, his faithful companion and 11 year old Black Lab, Bo.
Services will be on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West 8th St. Plainfield NJ followed by the interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
