Obituary of John Zuber

John Richard Zuber, beloved husband, father and grandfather, age 82, died on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Born in Lansford, PA, he was raised in Garfield, and had resided in Piscataway, for 36 years, before moving to Manchester 13 years ago. John served in the US Army during the Korean War. He received his BS in Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickenson University. John worked for RCA in Somerville as a Chemical Engineer for twenty-five years; he then went to work for Bell Labs in Murray Hill before retiring 1998. During his career he held several patents with Bell Labs and RCA. John was very active with the Piscataway Zoning Board and had held the position of Chairman. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and was an avid reader, John always had a thirst for knowledge. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family at the beach. His passion for gardening was second only to his love for his family. Surviving is his loving wife of sixty years Florence (Causer) Zuber; his sons Douglas of Sarasota, FL and Dr. Jack Zuber and his wife Dana of Warren; his sister Angela Fields of Satellite Beach, FL; his grandchildren Danielle Cummings and her husband Dennis, Charlotte Rose Zuber and Jack Zuber. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel, Warren. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Friday, January30, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
