Obituary of Robert F. Johnson

Robert Francis Johnson, born April 27, 1926, passed away on March 13, 2015. A retired President of Local 827, IBEW AFL-CIO he attended Rutgers and New York University, and graduated from the Union Leadership Academy at Rutgers University. He was a navy veteran, member of the Naval Boxing Team, and professional baseball player with the Brooklyn Dodgers Organization. He also served as Councilman in Dunellen, and Municipal Chairman of the Democratic Party. He is pre-deceased by his beloved wife Gloria Rotondo Johnson, 2010, and his son, Gary Robert Johnson, 1994. He is survived by his daughter, Rita Love, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, a grandson Forest Love and wife Tajalli, Berkeley California; grand-daughters, Ashley Cobb and husband Ryan, Madelyn Dwyer and husband Patrick, residing in NY; and four great-grandchildren, Evelyn Rose Love, Eloise Victoria Love, Clint Gary Dwyer, Harper Shea Cobb, and a sister, Shirley Morrison, Stuart, Florida. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 23rd, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Bld. Watchung, NJ. Services will start on Tuesday March 24th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 1350 Washington Valley Road, Bridgewater, 08807, 908-526-1350 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Community Care Hospice, 110 W.
