Obituary of James B Johnson

James (Jim) B. Johnson , 57 died unexpectedly March 26, 2015. Born in Somerville and a graduate of Hillsborough High School in 1975. He was Captain of the boys varsity Basketball Team receiving the honors of First team all- county, First team all- conference, and First Team all-area respectively. He furthered his education attending Muhlenberg College Allentown Pa., and named Captain of its basketball team. There Jim made E.C.A.C. player of the week numerous times and first team all-conference. Upon graduation he attended Capital University Law School in Ohio obtaining his Law degree. Jim became a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, building his Law practice in Somerville NJ. While practicing law he worked alongside of his preceded father Frank J. Johnson. Establishing his residence in Westfield NJ Jim enjoyed spending precious time with his two boys traveling and attending sporting events. Jim was an avid sports enthusiast attending the Big East basketball tournament at Madison Square Garden on a yearly bases. Also being a big sport memorabilia collector, Jim preference was collecting old school sports items dated from 1940's thru the 1960's. Other enjoyments of Jim's was selling items on Ebay, cooking breakfast for family and having a creativity in his food presentations. Jim will be deeply missed by family member, friends, and colleagues. Jim is survived is his loving wife Terri (Freeman) Johnson. Jim is also survived by his two loving children, Troy Johnson, 26 Brett Johnson 23. In addition other family survived are his mother, Elizabeth Johnson, brother Dale Johnson, sister Kimberly Weber; and 7 loving nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. A visitation will be held on Sunday March 29, 2015 from 2-7 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ 07069. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 9:30 am followed by a 10:30 am service at the funeral home. The interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
