Obituary of William A. Molinski, Jr.
North Plainfield: Mr. William A. Molinski, Jr., age 88, died on Monday, August 28, 2006 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Mr. Molinski was born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late William Molinski and Marie Poranski and grew up in Rego Park, NY. He has lived in North Plainfield for the past 54 years. Mr. Molinski served in the Army during W.W.II in the 186th Field Artillery Battalion in the European Theatre of Operations. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Mobil Chemical for over 40 years in a variety of capacities. Mr. Molinski, a Communicant of St. Joseph R.C. Church in North Plainfield, was a member of the North Plainfield Senior Citizens Club. He won the Somerset County Senior Volunteer of the Year award. He loved to entertained people by playing the piano at many nursing homes and health care centers such as Norwood Terrace Nursing Home, McCutchen Friends Home and the Villa Maria Health Care Center. He also enjoyed his sports and was an avid Yankees fan. Mr. Molinski is predeceased by his wife Sophia Szalwinski Molinski in 1991. He is survived by his daughter Carol Meaney and her husband Jerry of Pt. Pleasant; three sons, William A. Molinski III and his wife Patricia of Wallington; Dennis Molinski and his wife Maria of Portugal; and Gerald Molinski and his wife Susan of Spring, TX; nineteen grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Friday, September 1st at 8:30 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 461 Somerset Street, North Plainfield followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Joseph R.C. Church, North Plainfield. Cremation is private.
