Obituary of Jean A. Scott
Jean A. Scott, 75, daughter of the late John and Mary Mackey Scott, died Sunday, June 22, 2003 at Community Memorial Hospital in Toms River.
Born in Plainfield, she resided there for many years, attending St. Marys School and Plainfield High School. She briefly lived in North Plainfield before moving to Whiting in 1987.
Prior to retiring in 1986, she was employed as a secretary for American Hoechst in Bridgewater for 20 years.
Ms. Scott was a member of the Catholic Womens Organization and St. Marys Rosary Altar Society. For many years, she was an active member of the Plainfield Republican Club under Pete McDonough. She also had a special fondness for animals, especially her dogs.
Her brothers James, John, Gerald, Leo and William Scott and her sisters Loretta Berry and Muriel Burke all predeceased her.
Surviving are a sister Marguerite Pilon of Whiting, two nieces Jean A. Vecchio of Piscataway and Ellen Conaghan of Point Pleasant and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Marys R.C. Church in Plainfield and interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
