Obituary of Robert Zemel

Robert Zemel, age 62, died on Monday, July 21, 2003 in Nova Scotia. Canada. Born and raised in Plainfield, he lived there for a number of years before moving to Westfield in 1974. Mr. Zemel is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Zemel; one son, Marc Zemel and his wife Sarah of West Harrison, NY; one daughter, Lisa Zemel of Scotch Plains; 3 grandchildren, Avital Zemel, Rachel Levine and Eitan Zemel; and one sister, Susan Lappin of Mendham. Mr. Zemel received his BA from Lafayette College in 1963, and his MBA from Cornell University in 1965. He worked as a CPA for various commercial enterprises for 35 years, semi-retiring in 1999. He was a member of Temple Emmanu-El in Westfield, and actively involved in Temple Chavurah and Mens Club. He enjoyed traveling, biking, reading, computers, and trains. He cherished his time with his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, NJ 07069. Interment will follow.
