Obituary of Elizabeth A. Murphy
Plainfield: Elizabeth A. Harrower Murphy, died Saturday, August 2, 2003 at her home.
Born and raised in Newark, she resided in Plainfield since 1959.
Mrs. Murphy was a communicant of St. Marys R. C. Church in Plainfield and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. In addition, she was very active at St. Marys School in Plainfield for over 25 years and volunteered at St. Marys Soup Kitchen and Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. She was an avid bridge enthusiast.
Surviving are her husband, Plainfield attorney, Daniel F. Murphy; five daughters, Susan and her husband Charles Higgins of Wall; Joanne and her husband Terry Brizz of Rocky River, OH; Kathleen and her husband Henry Park of Manhattan Beach, CA; Ruth and her husband Joseph Calderone of South Plainfield; Meaghean Murphy and her husband David Chimoskey of Manhattan, NY; three sons, Daniel F. Murphy, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Westfield; Christopher J. Murphy of Lopatcong and Terrence A. Murphy of Boston, MA; a sister Mary Jane Kral of OH and 9 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:15 am from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield followed by an 11:00 am funeral Mass at St. Marys R.C. Church in Plainfield and interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
