Murray Hill: Albert S. Condie, age 92, died on Saturday August 9, 2003 at the King James Care Center of Chatham.
Mr. Condie was born in Paterson NJ and had resided there until moving to Murray Hill in 1961.
Prior to retiring in 1976, Mr. Condie worked for Public Service Electric and Gas in Newark, NJ as an Assistant Construction Engineer for 39 years.
Mr. Condie was a World War II Veteran having served in the 7th Corp, First United States Army Combat Engineers receiving the Bronze Star for meritorious service. He also participated in the battle of Normandy, landing on Utah Beach, D. Day plus one.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne Condie of Murray Hill; a son, Robert Condie of Tualatin OR; a daughter, Dana Ainge and her husband, Dennis of Reston VA; and a granddaughter Cara.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2003 at 1:00 pm at the Westminster Presbyterian Church 725 Mountain Ave. Berkeley Heights NJ. For directions, please call (908) 464-9400. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Higgins Home for Funerals in Watchung. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to either the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O Box 117, Berkeley Heights, NJ, 07922 or the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
