Obituary of Nicholas Franco

Nicholas Franco, age 60, died on Friday, August 15, 2003 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born in Greece, he lived in Plainfield before moving to North Plainfield in 1983. Mr. Franco received his BA in Math and Electrical Engineering from NYU. For approximately 25 years he owned and operated 2N Foods in Astoria, NY, a restaurant supply company. Mr. Franco loved his family very much. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Westfield and enjoyed old cars, and his work. Mr. Franco is predeceased by his father, Panayioti Franco. Surviving are his wife Judith (Murphy) Franco of North Plainfield; three daughters, Kiriaki, Maris and Briana Franco of North Plainfield; his mother, Kyriaki Franco; and his sister, Joanna Papadatos of Greece. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, at 8:30 a.m. from Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, NJ 07060, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Westfield. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
